Vol. 15, Book 4, page 186: The Lexington Dispatch, Lexington, SC - January 31, 1900 Wednesday - Married by Rev. Daniel Shumpert on January 21, 1900, Mr. John A. Wise and Miss Maggie Senn both of Lexington County.
He attended Scouter Creek School, a one room building located close to where Falcon Pond is now. He fathered 20 children by 2 wives. He moved to Tin City off Hwy. 302 close to where the Town and Country Store (Mrs. Brown's) is now. He built his home into the side of a hill. There was a spring of water on the top of the hill. He piped the water down the side of the hill into the house. He made his living by farming the old sand hills around where the Falcon Airport is now. He helped load the box cars with sand when the railroad was built. He also helped with the construction of barracks at what was then called Camp Jackson (now Ft. Jackson) in Columbia.
